Pineapple Privacy Policy

1. Local app data and accounts

Pineapple does not require a separate Pineapple account. Watchlists, display preferences and downloaded market data are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your local watchlist database or offer watchlist cloud sync. You can clear downloaded data in Settings. Clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling removes its local data; this does not automatically erase server-side security or purchase records.

2. Market requests and service security

To provide quotes, charts, search and news, the app sends requested stock symbols, search terms and relevant request parameters to our API and its market or news service providers. Search results and market responses may be cached by the service. Network services receive technical information such as IP addresses. Our API uses a device-generated key, device authorization identifiers and Google Play Integrity results to protect access. Access logs record request identifiers, status and timing for reliability and security; they do not intentionally record payment card details or purchase tokens.

3. Advertising and privacy choices

The free version displays Google AdMob banner and native ads. Google’s advertising SDK may collect or share IP addresses, approximate location derived from IP, advertising and device identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics and performance information for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Pineapple does not request precise location permission. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google advertising information.

Where required, Google’s User Messaging Platform presents privacy choices before advertising is requested. When available for your region, use Settings → Privacy choices to review or change your choices. Choices may affect which ads are available and do not necessarily prevent every form of advertising data processing. Pro does not request in-app ads while the app recognizes your active Pro entitlement. No separate behavioral analytics SDK is included.

4. Google Play purchases

Google Play processes optional one-time Pro purchases using your Google Play account. Pineapple does not collect payment card details. Our protected backend receives and stores purchase tokens, product identifiers, verification status, timestamps and associations with app device authorization identifiers to verify, acknowledge, restore and revoke entitlements, including after refunds. Reinstalling the app does not cancel a purchase or delete these purchase records. We use Google Play purchase verification and notifications to keep entitlements accurate.

5. News, images and external links

News headlines may include images loaded from publisher image services, which receive normal network information such as your IP address. Opening an original article launches your browser and the publisher’s site. Their own privacy and cookie rules apply.

6. Service providers and security

We use Microsoft Azure to host our API and protected service records, and Google services for app integrity, billing and advertising. Data may be processed outside your country. App-to-service connections use HTTPS. We restrict backend access to authorized service identities and operational access. No security measure can guarantee complete protection.

7. Retention and requests

Downloaded local data remains until it is replaced, cleared or the app is removed. Server caches expire according to the type of response. Device authorization, security logs and purchase records are retained as needed for operating the service, fraud prevention, purchase restoration, refunds and applicable recordkeeping. We do not currently offer an automatic in-app deletion of all server-side records. Email us to request access, correction or deletion of data associated with your use; we may need information to identify the relevant record and may retain records needed for security or legal obligations. Do not email passwords or payment card details.

8. Children and policy changes

Pineapple is not designed for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us. We may update this policy as the app or its providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
